The non-suit look

If you want to wear a suit, as mentioned previously, the jacket and pant have to be exactly the same. However if you do not want to go for the suit look, then make sure the jacket and trousers are clearly different in terms of color. Don't wear like a charcoal gray jacket and black pant, they are too similar in color and will look as thought you were indeed trying to wear a suit; and because they are not the same, it means you're wearing a fake suit. Pair up a light colored gray jacket with black pant, or navy jacket with khakis; the idea here is that both the jacket and pant have to be noticeably different.

The fake suit

As we've mentioned before, a suit consists of garments made from the same cloth, consisting of at least a jacket and trousers; this means that if you want to wear a suit, the jacket and pant has to be from the same cloth. Many people want to wear a suit but they purchased the jacket and pant separately, they think they are wearing a suit, but they are actually wearing a fake suit. Just because both garments are black does not mean they are the same, there usually will be a noticeable difference in the material, texture, thickness, and shine. Unless of course both garments are 99% identical in every way, then it is fine, otherwise don't wear them together.
