New slim ties

To those who are not familiar with slim ties—these are NOT skinny ties. Slim ties can be used for both formal and casual wear. Unless you’re a hard-core fashion guy who favors a super-skinny tie, stick with one that measures about two and a half to three inches at its widest point. It will be narrower than traditional ties, but not by too much. Tie one on and you’ll look modern and sophisticated.

I've actually had a number of people come up to me and go "Hey Jin, are slim ties suitable for office wear?". Yes, they absolutely are, most guys mistake slim for skinny ties; those are only suitable for casual wear and not for professional use, anything around 2 inches is categorized under skinny and any thinner will be followed by super-skinny.

Suit from Granoff completed

Here's the finished product of the custom suit from Granoff.

Once again the specifications of the suit:

# Two-button jacket with peak lapel.
# Double-vented back and five-button detail at cuffs.
# Flap welt slant pockets at the jacket waist, single chest welt pocket.
# Flat-front pant with extended button tab.

This suit has the whole navy, purple, and pink shades of color. The suit material is navy in color, the lining on the body is a light pale pink, and then the sleeve lining purple stripes. Then the same material on the sleeves are again used on the pocket piping. We were expecting much darker buttons, something like dark brown chocolate, but surprisingly the outcome of the current buttons look great, they add more character to the suit, these are horn buttons by the way, tailors usually charge an extra RM200 for horn but this was included in the package.

Overall we think the suit looks great, but the pants could still be slimmed down a little more. We will arrange to meet the tailor to get that done.

Cotton ties

Try on cotton ties for a change, their more casual looking than your regular silk ties and they have this really cool look it. When wearing your cotton suit, nothing looks better when paired with a cotton tie. Look for plaid ones, their the in-thing right now!
